Custom Domain Setup¶

You can connect your own domain name (for example www.mysite.com) to your Ekit site.

The setup is simple and only takes a few minutes.
SSL (HTTPS) is automatic and free.

1. Choose the domain to use¶

Recommended (simplest)¶

Use the domain with www:

www.mysite.com

Why? - Works with all domain providers - Simple DNS configuration (CNAME) - Smooth SSL activation

💡 You can later redirect mysite.com → www.mysite.com.

⚠️ Domain without `www` (advanced)¶

mysite.com

The root (apex) domain does not always support CNAME records, depending on your DNS provider.

This is optional and explained below.

2. Enter the domain in Ekit¶

In the Ekit Studio:

Open your template
Go to Custom Domain
Enter your domain (for example):

www.mysite.com
```
Click Verify domain
Then click Activate domain

Ekit will check if your DNS configuration is correct.

3. DNS configuration (at your domain provider)¶

Log in to your domain provider (OVH, Gandi, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.).

Standard configuration (recommended)¶

Add a CNAME record:

CNAME	www	cname.ekit.app

DNS propagation may take a few minutes up to a few hours.

4. HTTPS / SSL (automatic)¶

Once the DNS is correctly configured:

Ekit automatically generates an SSL certificate
Your site becomes available over HTTPS
No manual action is required

5. Using the domain without `www`¶

Option A — Redirect (recommended)¶

Set a redirect at your domain provider:

mysite.com → https://www.mysite.com

This is the simplest and most reliable solution.

Option B — DNS advanced setup¶

If your DNS provider supports ALIAS / ANAME records:

Type	Host	Value
ALIAS / ANAME	@	cname.ekit.app

Availability depends on your provider.

6. Common issues¶

The domain is not reachable yet¶

DNS propagation may still be in progress
Wait a few minutes and try again

HTTPS does not work immediately¶

SSL generation may take 1–2 minutes
Refresh the page after activation

I see another website¶

Make sure the domain is activated in Ekit
Check that the CNAME points exactly to cname.ekit.app
