Plans & limits¶
Ekit has three plans. Prices are in US dollars, excluding tax, billed monthly. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your Profile.
| Free | Pro | Team | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $19 / month | $79 / month |
| Projects | 1 | 5 | Unlimited |
| Sites | 2 | 10 | Unlimited |
| Tables per project | 3 | 50 | Unlimited |
| Fields per table | 15 | 150 | Unlimited |
| Entries per project | 200 | 10,000 | Unlimited |
| Languages per project | 2 | 10 | 50 |
| AI generations per month | 15 | 50 | 250 |
| Collaborators per project | 2 | 5 | Unlimited |
| Site forms per site | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Custom domains | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Site analytics history | 7 days | 90 days | 12 months |
| XLSX export | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Every plan includes free hosting of your sites on an Ekit subdomain, and all collaboration features: invitations, real-time collaboration and the project chat. Plans differ only in the number of collaborators per project.
Unlimited means there is no plan quota. The technical protections below still apply to every plan, to keep the service fast and fair for everyone.
How limits are counted¶
Whose plan applies¶
Limits follow the plan of the project owner. When a collaborator creates a table, an entry or a site in your project, it counts towards your plan — whatever the collaborator's own plan.
Scope of each limit¶
| Limit | Counted |
|---|---|
| Projects | projects you own (projects shared with you do not count) |
| Sites | all the sites of all the projects you own |
| Tables | per project |
| Fields | per table |
| Entries | per project, all tables together |
| Languages | per project — chosen when the project is created |
| AI generations | per calendar month (UTC), all your projects together |
Only new creations are limited¶
Limits apply when you create something. If you already have more than your plan allows — for example after changing plans — nothing is deleted: all your projects, sites, tables and entries stay available and editable. Only new creations beyond the limit are refused.
When a limit is reached, the Studio shows the plans with the limit in question highlighted.
AI generations¶
AI site generation uses a monthly quota (15, 50 or 250 generations).
- The counter resets on the 1st of each month (UTC).
- A generation is counted when the AI starts working on your request.
- If the generation fails because of the AI provider or of Ekit (outage, timeout) before any change to your site, it is not counted.
- If the AI's answer cannot be applied to your files (nothing is written), the generation is not counted either. An answer that was applied counts, even if you then undo it.
- A request is limited to 4,000 characters.
- 2 generations can run at the same time per account (and one at a time per site).
- Changing plans during the month keeps the counter: the new plan's quota applies immediately.
Your usage for the month is shown in your Profile.
Automatic translation¶
Automatic translation of your fields is available on every plan, with daily protections per project owner:
- 500 translation calls per day (UTC);
- 2,000,000 characters translated per day — a text translated into 3 languages counts 3 times its length.
A single save can translate up to 300 texts and 200,000 characters, into the project's languages only. Ekit splits large saves into several calls automatically.
A text that is too long to be translated safely in one piece (about 40,000 characters for one language) is skipped: the other texts are still translated, and the Studio tells you which translations were not done so you can complete them by hand. Images embedded in a text are not counted.
Collaboration¶
Every plan can invite collaborators to a project and use real-time collaboration and the project chat: a live discussion between the collaborators connected to a project (button in the Studio header). Chat messages are ephemeral — they are not stored and disappear when the page is reloaded.
The number of collaborators per project depends on the plan of the project owner: 2 on Free, 5 on Pro, unlimited on Team. The counter is shown in the project Settings (for example “3 / 5 collaborators (including 1 pending invitation)”).
How seats are counted:
- the project owner never takes a seat;
- each collaborator takes one seat, counted by email address — the same person is never counted twice, even if they were invited several times;
- a pending invitation reserves a seat until it is accepted or expires (7 days); an invitation that could not be sent does not reserve anything;
- an invitation accepted by someone who does not have an Ekit account yet keeps its seat: they become a member when they sign up.
The limit is checked when an invitation is sent and again when it is accepted. An invitation that cannot be accepted because the project is full is not used up: it can still be accepted before it expires if a seat becomes free or if the owner changes plan.
If you move to a plan with fewer seats:
- your existing collaborators keep their access — nobody is removed;
- you can no longer send invitations while the project is at or above the new limit;
- pending invitations can no longer be accepted while the project is above the limit.
Custom domains¶
Custom domains are included in the Pro and Team plans. See Custom domain.
If you move to the Free plan:
- your existing custom domains keep working for 30 days;
- during this period they cannot be changed or re-activated, and the Studio shows the end date;
- after 30 days, Ekit stops serving the custom domain — your site and all its data remain available on its Ekit address. Nothing is deleted.
Returning to Pro or Team before the end of the 30 days brings everything back to normal.
Changing or cancelling your plan¶
Open Profile → Manage subscription.
| Change | Takes effect |
|---|---|
| Free → Pro or Team | immediately, after payment |
| Pro → Team | immediately — the price difference for the current period is charged right away |
| Team → Pro | at the end of the current paid period |
| Cancel | at the end of the current paid period; you then move to the Free plan |
If a payment fails¶
When a renewal payment fails, your plan stays active for 14 days while the payment is retried. Update your payment method from Manage subscription. If the payment is not settled after 14 days, the Free plan limits apply — nothing is deleted.
A first payment that never went through does not start the paid plan.
Technical protections¶
These limits apply to every plan, including Team:
| Protection | Limit |
|---|---|
| Invitations | 20 per day per project owner |
| Project chat | 2,000 characters per message, 20 messages per 30 seconds per person |
| Custom domain activations | 10 per day |
| Method tests in the Studio | 30 per minute |
| Public API | 120 requests per minute per IP address |
Public Methods (ekit.methods.call) |
30 per minute per visitor and Method, 600 per minute per site |
| Method responses | 2 MB |
| Uploaded files | 50 MB per file |
| Project import | one import at a time, 10 archive imports per day; archive up to 500 MB (templates do not count) |
| Data import | 20 files at once, 20 MB per file, 200 columns; 20 imports per day, one at a time |
| Automatic backups | the 50 most recent automatic snapshots per site are kept (manual backups are never deleted automatically) |
When one of these limits is reached, the Studio shows a message; wait a moment (or until the next day) and try again.
